“FBSM” goes by many names. While Providers and up-to-date Hobbyists understand the acronym stands for “Full Body Sensual Massage,” those particular words should be avoided in advertisements, phone interviews or in session.

Generally the term “MASSAGE” should not be used at all to help distinguish between EROTIC bodywork (ie: FBSM) vs. THERAPEUTIC massage (by a licensed massage therapist).

Instead we refer to “FBSM” using other “politically correct” terms such as BODYRUBS, SACRED TOUCH, BODY TO BODY, HOT OIL RUBDOWNS or EXOTIC BODYWORK.

I like it. Very much. It would be great if it could replace the terms “tantra massage” and “kundalini therapy” in common usage.

…Some people do get ever so confused when they accidentally stumble upon my little school insisting they are “very experienced in tantra”, asking about what the practitioner is going to be wearing/not wearing (WTF! seriously?) … and especially if they use the words “relax” and “release tension” a lot.

I agree! Using the “T” word is like opening a can of worms. But it IS a common BUZZ phrase used in the Erotic Healing Arts industry and FBSM world that the general public can relate to. In the least it can serve in hooking them in so they can discover themselves that “Tantra” is a meditative practice and not a sex act. I believe “Tantric Massage” is a wonderful gateway into the broader realm of metaphysical transformation.
